Starbound Bound for Xbox Game Pass

After many years, Starbound was finally made available on Xbox on October 24, 2024. Publisher Chucklefish announced that on January 21st that Starbound is now bound for Xbox Game Pass. Following a quality of life update on December 9th 2024, Starbound is out right now for those who have Xbox Game Pass.

The Xbox version of Starbound features controller support, accessibility options like auto aim. In addition, Xbox Series X players can host up to 4 players via online Coop. Series S owners are limited to only two coop players via online coop. Along with that, the Xbox version contains all the previous updates that were available for the PC version.

If you’ve never played Starbound, you are missing out. Somewhat of an established cult classic, Starbound originally launched on Steam in 2016. Since then, Starbound has retained a sizable player base and regular updates. These updates added quality of life features as well as new additions to the game. You play as a wayward adventurer fleeing their home planet after an attack and must find a home planet and procure enough resources to carve out a nice slice of life for yourself. There are planets to explore, dungeons to concur, and secrets to uncover in Starbound.
