LV1 Gaming got the opportunity to go to Seattle, Washington, and cover PAX West 2026. Board games, pin trading, beer gardens, and of course plenty of video games. One of the titles that stood out to the team is an indie game called Space Disco Outlaw, developed and published by Passionately Chill. This game is a survival action game centered around music. The weapons fire to the beat of the in-game music, creating flashy, bouncy, high-intensity gameplay. We got the chance to speak with a developer from Passionately Chill about Space Disco Outlaw, and you can check it out below.

Passionately Chill Developer Interview PAX West 2026

Space Disco Outlaw Key Features

  • Musical Sci-Fi Survival Action – Pilot an outlaw drone through escalating combat encounters as you follow a mysterious signal of unknown origin.
  • Combat Driven by Music – Equipped instruments automatically activate in sync with the soundtrack, creating a unique rhythm-based flow to each survival run.
  • Survive Increasingly Intense Waves – Face growing challenges, new enemy types, environmental events, and increasingly complex encounters as each run progresses.
  • Collect, Upgrade, and Evolve – Gather resources during combat, level up your abilities, and develop your drone into a faster and more capable machine.
  • Customize Your Loadout – Use Warp Space between waves to manage your build, purchase new instruments and mods, and prepare for the challenges ahead.
  • Risk and Reward Gameplay – Balance movement, survival, resource collection, and build progression as you decide when to play it safe and when to push your run further.

After the interview, we got to try out the recently released Survivor game and were immediately hooked. The demo available on the show floor featured five waves and a boss fight. There are some roguelite mechanics to the game; before each wave/round, you get to pick a new weapon. Not only do each weapon have different attack patterns, but they also make a different sci-fi instrumental sound. You can’t control when the weapons fire, but you must maneuver your robot away from enemies and their attacks. The boss had a dope ability that muffles your music and weapons when your weapons hit its net/web.

If you enjoy games like Vampire Survivors, Space Disco Outlaw will be right up your alley. And it is officially out now and available on Steam for only $5; you can get hours of music-driven combat for less than a latte.
