Lv1 Gaming made our way to San Diego, CA, for TwitchCon 2025. We had the opportunity to not only play the upcoming Netmarble title Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE, but also to interview the game director. Naturally one of the most popular anime would have one of the busiest booths on the TwitchCon show floor. Broken up into four segments, this booth had everything a Solo Leveling fan could hope for. There was an arcade punching machine to competitively test your physical strength. They even had a cool photo area with a Sung Jinwoo cosplayer. Furthermore, there was an area to spin a wheel to win TwitchCon exclusive Solo Leveling merch, such as Funko Pops or a themed wallet. Last but not least, several stations were prepared so that players could actually get to play Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE.
Ranked 10th Overall
Netmarble elevated the already entertaining booth by introducing an in-game competition for people who played the game. The demo featured a timed trial where you had to fight multiple waves of enemies and a familiar boss (to those who know the Solo Leveling story.) The top 10 players by the end of TwitchCon will win various prizes. Well, I ended up placing 10th overall, and I even captured it on video that you can see below.
Honestly, the combat was fluid and clearly fast-paced. The game does a wonderful job of making you feel like you are really controlling Sung Jinwoo. The dodging, parrying, and brutal combos embody everything about the legendary character. Fans of engaging combat and the series will find themselves addicted to this game. Now, for what I won for placing 10th overall at TwitchCon 2025, they gave me a Steam copy of Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE and a $30 Steam gift card.
Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE Game Director Interview
To cap off the unforgettable time we had at the Netmarble booth, Kwanghun Kim, the game director for the upcoming title, took a few minutes to answer some of our questions. If you are interested in playing through Sung Jinwoo’s story, you will not have to wait long; Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE will be coming to PC via Steam and Xbox on November 24, 2025, and you can pre-order now!
