Fans of the Sniper Elite franchise have more good news. Rebellion isn’t just content with giving an upgrade to Sniper Elite 4. They previously announced a fifth installment to the popular sniper series and now we can provide a bit more information. So without further ado, let’s introduce Sniper Elite 5. So now we’ll see Karl Fairbourne taking on the Nazi plot called Project Kraken in France.

Sniper Elite 5

Rebellion announced back in December of last year and plans for the franchise were confirmed back in 2019. And now we have more information on the game and details on the season pass content. One new feature added is the option to invade someone’s campaign in the new invasion mode. Adding a human threat really alters the gameplay dynamics for Sniper Elite 5.

Sniper Elite 5 Game Features

The official store listing has the following listed.

Expansive Campaign

Many real-world locations have been captured using photogrammetry to recreate a living, immersive environment, and multiple infiltration and extraction points and kill list targets provide a whole new perspective on each mission. Take on the Nazi plot solo or work with a partner, with improved co-op mechanics allowing you to share ammo and items, give orders, and heal each other.

Advanced Gunplay Physics And Traversal

Use ziplines, slide down slopes, and shimmy along ledges to reach the perfect vantage point, or to sneak past a sharp-eyed lookout. Factor in rifle stock and barrel options along with gravity, wind, and heart rate while you line up your sights on the target.

High Calibre Customisation

Use workbenches to customize and upgrade virtually every aspect of your weapon – change scopes, stocks, barrels, magazines, and more. Rifles, secondaries, and pistols all have a huge variety of options. On top of that, you can select the ammo to suit your target, from armor-piercing right down to non-lethal.

Invasion Mode

Campaign Drop-in PvP and Co-Op – Invade another player’s Campaign as an Axis sniper and engage in a deadly game of cat and mouse, providing a new dimension to the challenge as you stalk your prey. Alternatively, as Karl, you can call for assistance and have a second sniper drop in to help you out of a tricky situation.

Tense Adversarial Multiplayer

Customize your character and loadout and earn XP, medals, and ribbons as you take on intensely competitive 16 player battles that will really test your sharpshooting skills. If co-op’s more your style, you can team up with up to 3 other players against waves of enemies in Survival mode.

Enhanced Kill Cam

More realistic and grisly than ever, the trademark X-ray kill cam returns, showing you the true destructive power of each shot. Bones deflect bullets unpredictably, ripping a new path through enemy bodies. SMGs and pistols can also trigger kill cams, including multiple shots in dramatic slow motion.

And the season pass on the official announcement says players will get “access to a post-release two-part campaign on extensive maps where they can arm themselves with an expanded armory of authentic World War II weapons and customize their sniper with new character packs and weapon skins”. The full contents include two campaign missions, weapon skin packs, character packs, and six weapon packs. This will all be included in the deluxe edition. However, nothing has been confirmed as yet if it will be made available separately.

Sniper Elite 5

The game will launch on PlayStation 4 and 5 and PC. On Xbox consoles, you can get the game either to buy or it’s available in Game Pass at launch. However, if you preorder you get an additional mission and weapon in the P.1938 Suppressed Pistol. The mission is Wolf Moutain where you’ll be sent to the Bavarian Alps to infiltrate Hitler’s personal retreat. And we don’t have long to wait with the game coming out on 26th May on all platforms. Pricing varies depending on the edition you get. So the Standard Edition costs $59.99/£54.99/€59.99 and the Deluxe Edition is $89.99/£79.99/€89.99.
