Earlier this year we saw a horror title get a complete facelift in Layers of Fear. I decided prior to the remakes release revisit the original. I went through the remake and the review can be found here. Though this was a full remake of the two games in Unreal Engine 5. So, that’s also the focus of another horror remake. We have a rather unexpected remake on the cards. We see the return of Slender Man in the upcoming remake of Slender: The Arrival. Therefore we can look forward to a well-known character and game returning in Unreal Engine 5.2.
Blue Isle Studios have confirmed that Slender Man is back later this year. It’s been a decade since we saw the release of Slender: The Arrival. That was when the game hit PC. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 saw a release the following year. It came to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2015 and now returns again. Though for those interested, we have a ten-year anniversary trailer from Blue Isle Studios below.
What We Know About The Return Of Slender Man
October becomes busier with another horror joining. Gematsu has an announcement from Blue Isle Studios. They told us that “it’s been ten… long… years…” . Therefore being Unreal Engine 5 we can expect major changes. It seems that “every shadow, every material, every model and every hair-raising encounter with the mysterious Slender Man will be rendered in stunning detail. This new update not only enhances the graphics but also elevates the overall gameplay experience”.

As to platforms, nothing has been stated. However, I would guess PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S would be the listed platforms. The original game is available on Switch but I don’t see this launching natively on that platform. However with a release not overly far away, hopefully some more news soon. Though did you play the original release? If so what are your thoughts? When Layers of Fear remake was released, there was a discount for owners of the original games. Will this see similar? Hopefully, social media and the official website will provide that information soon.
