Back in May, Wales Interactive brought its 2020 release to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This was the survival horror entitled Maid of Sker. Along with upgrades the game also received a challenge mode with an FPS feel. And it seems that was just the beginning as we see in the next release from the South Glamorgan developers. So let’s introduce the upcoming Sker Ritual.
Wales Interactive has just recently announced they are bringing a sequel to their survival horror, Maid of Sker. So this is where we properly look at a return to Sker Island. However, with a different feel as Ritual is a four-player co-op survival FPS. So this follow up is very different to what Maid of Sker offered players last year. For those unaware, that was set in the late 19th century. You end up visiting the Sker Hotel which is a very disturbing state. So you have to try to survive the nightmare that has befallen this grand hotel.
What we know of the Maid of Sker sequel
Wales Interactive showed us very little of the sequel. So all we have to go off is the announcement from the developer. This was on Twitter and their website, along with the 15-second teaser shown above. So we see a more fast-paced feel compared to Maid of Sker. The teaser description states the following information.
The FPS co-op action horror and spiritual successor to the award-winning occult horror, Maid of Sker. Play solo or up to four players to survive the onslaught and supernatural menace of the Quiet Ones
And according to the Steam listing, we can expect to see Sker Ritual in Q2 2022 on PC. However, owners of Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 will see it launch later in the year. And the confirmation of this came from the developer on Twitter. However, what are your thoughts on this news? Did you play Maid of Sker? As always we’d love to hear your thoughts.
