Nearly a year ago now news circulated about the partnership with Konami and developer Bloober Team. Prior to this news, Peter Babieno the CEO of Bloober said this in an interview.

In fact, we’ve been working for more than a year on another gaming project, another horror IP, and we’re doing this with a very famous gaming publisher. I can’t tell you who. I can’t tell you what the project is, but I’m pretty sure when people realize we’re working on it, they will be very excited.

There has not been any news since then but it’s no secret that Konami owns one of the most popular horror franchises that a lot are looking forward to returning to.

Will Silent Hill Return

On Twitter, a user called NateThe Hate posted some interesting information. Stating they have heard Bloober Team is actually working on a remake for working Silent Hill 2. This would also include “reworked puzzles and new endings”. It would also launch as a timed exclusive on what we assume is PlayStation 5.

Venture Beat’s Jeff Grubb claims he’s also heard similar.

This is the stuff I’ve heard, and it comes from multiple different sources. Not all of my sources are primary, but everything is mostly lining up. To me, the biggest indicator is the stuff I’ve seen lines up with Konami doing a big reveal at E3 last year before it pulled out.

However, There Could Be More.

If we look back at the tweet from NateThe Hate we see more to the story.

Multiple Silent Hill projects in development; including new mainline entry & side “stories”

This seems to match what VGC has heard about multiple projects. One recently leaked last week, which they also reported. The leak came from AestheticGamer on Twitter which was pulled at the request of Konami not only that it lead to the temporary locking of their account following a DCMA.

They appear to be reliable. They leaked Resident Evil 8 back in April 2020. What they stated was it would come in 2021 and star Ethan Winters. They also told us about the introduction of werewolves. History has shown that to be accurate. However all this on Silent Hill is unconfirmed, but it is certainly worth monitoring.
