Siege X – The New Era Of Rainbow Six Siege

Siege X

Ubisoft has faced a challenging period recently, drawing criticism on social media. Despite this, they’ve achieved successes, notably with the Rainbow Six series. However, even the once incredibly popular Siege has seen its player base dwindle somewhat in the past couple of years. It’s been about a year since we last discussed the game, and with its approaching tenth anniversary, we have an intriguing update called Siege X on the horizon. Having played Siege since its public beta, I’m eager to explore what the future holds for this tactical shooter.

The first thing to do is to look at the trailer posted above. The first thing I noticed on the trailer was the claim towards the end. We are promised that “a new era of Siege is coming!”. This is where I paid more attention. What are we getting in the new update? The trailer doesn’t give much away but we advised to check out the upcoming Siege X Showcase on 13th March. The time for this is 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 7 pm CET. That’s not all as we are told to get ready for the “biggest transformation in the game’s history”. As a long-time player, I was very much interested. The update promises to introduce “new ways to play, deepened tactical gameplay, and major upgrades all around!”

Siege X – Where Are Team Rainbow Going Next

Another video we have below tells us Year Ten is starting with Operator Prep Phase and that “big things are coming”. This is the Operation Prep Phase Operator Gameplay Gadget & Starter Tips video. For those really interested in finding out more then check it out below.

Though Ubisoft has a news post explaining what we can expect, without going into major details ahead of next month’s big reveal. The post says we this major update will offer the following.

  • Graphical upgrade
  • Audio upgrade
  • Deepened tactical gameplay
  • New ways to play the game

They give a breakdown of the new attacking operator from New Zealand Rauora  and her bulletproof cover system. But the claims of the biggest transformation and a new era, make me think this is the tip of the iceberg. We could have to relearn and take a new approach on how to play the game. Personally I am really excited to see what they have in store. Operation Prep Phase hits the test servers on next week and the live release is the 4th March.

Bold Future For Rainbow 6 Ahead

Well according to TheGamer we have the following information

Ubisoft has announced Rainbow Six Siege X as a “major evolution” for the game that’s not quite a sequel but is seemingly much more than an update.

So fans waiting for a sequel will they be disappointed? According to Insider Gaming, Ubisoft feels this new era could last another decade. Game Director Joshua Mills had this to say

It is not Siege 2, and it’s not just another update. It’s a major evolution.

We’re expanding and reinforcing the very foundation of Siege to ensure it remaisn the pinnacle of tactical PvP first-person shooters.

This means major graphical and audio upgrades, refined game-feel, and new ways to enjoy the game, all while staying true to what makes the core of Siege so special.

Alex Karpazis who is the games Creative Director added that this was “such a significant leap forward” that they couldn’t do justice to the update at the recent Six Invitational.
