Shodan may be a character you aren’t familiar with the name but you may know the face. They are the main enemy behind the issues you face in System Shock and System Shock 2. Naturally, this means they are present in the upcoming remake. The Steam listing gives a March 2023 release date as well so we shall soon have the remake in our hands. The enemy in this game isn’t a person but a rogue AI. The name of the AI stands for Sentient Hyper-Optimized Data Access Network.
There was a recent event on Steam called the Next Fest event. We got a look at several upcoming games. Some of these we covered for you. One of these games was a fresh look at the world we will experience in the System Shock remake. I put this updated demo through its paces to see how the game is holding up and like the previous demo I was left impressed. It’s a series I’m fond of, especially the sequel which in turn led me to check the original title out. If you’re a fan of Bioshock this really should be one you need to look into.
