Game delays are a common occurrence, especially in recent times when unforeseeable events disrupt the world. In 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic halted the world, and its effects are still being felt in many places. In addition, the recent conflict in Ukraine has also had a significant impact on various industries, including the video game industry.
For instance, GSC Game World has been working on STALKER 2, but due to the pandemic and the conflict in Ukraine, the game’s launch has been delayed. According to the studio’s website, the game is scheduled to launch on December 8th, although delays are still possible. Another game studio in Kyiv, Frogwares, is also facing similar challenges. They are known for their Sherlock Holmes games, and they had planned to release a remake of one of their titles, Sherlock Holmes The Awakened, in late March or early April. However, due to the ongoing situation in Ukraine and Russia, the game’s release has been postponed.
Despite the challenges, the developers at Frogwares have been keeping fans up to date through regular developer diaries. However, like GSC Game World, the updates are not always pleasant, and they shed light on the difficulties that the studio and the country are facing due to the ongoing conflict.

Great news! Frogwares has announced the confirmed release date for their upcoming game, and fortunately, there has not been a significant delay. Considering the circumstances, both Frogwares and GSC have achieved a fantastic feat. The game is scheduled to be released on April 11th, and pre-orders are now available. For PC users, the game can be pre-ordered on Steam and Epic, and it comes in three different editions: Standard, Deluxe, and Premium. The Standard edition includes only the game, while the other editions offer additional features.
