If you’re a fan of sports games, you’ve probably played games from either EA or 2K. For me, my main sporting love is soccer (or football, depending on where you live). In this genre, we have less choice than we used to. Years ago, Konami competed with EA. And even further back, we had Microprose Soccer, without which we’d never have seen Sensible Soccer. There was also Dino Dini’s Kick Off series. However, in 2023, we have EA Sports with FIFA 24 and no real major competition. Though things could change with the return of an old classic.
Since Kick Off was rebooted a few years ago, fans of the classic arcade soccer game have been wondering what’s next. While the reboot didn’t quite capture the feel of the original for some players, the return of the genre is exciting nonetheless, especially given that the team behind Sensible Soccer is involved. Sociable Soccer 24 is the upcoming release, and while it’s a rebranded version of a mobile franchise that’s been around for a few years, it’s still worth getting excited about.
The Return Of Sensible Soccer To A Larger Audience
On November 16th, the game will launch on PC and the Nintendo Switch. Early next year, we will see the full release on Xbox and PlayStation hardware, as well as the release of physical copies. We do not yet know the price, but if you bought the Steam early access version six years ago, this release will be free, according to the Steam listing. Fans of the series may see this as competition for EA FC24, with another surprise rival in the form of the Lego football game.
