Scott Pilgrim EX Panel at Comic-Con Reveals Gameplay Teaser and Physical Release Details
A panel at San Diego Comic-Con provided new information on Scott Pilgrim EX, the upcoming video game set in the Scott Pilgrim universe. The event featured representatives from developer Tribute Games, publisher Limited Run Games, and Universal Products & Experiences, as well as Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley. A brief gameplay teaser was also shown, offering an early look at the game’s opening sequence.
The discussion covered Scott Pilgrim EX‘s narrative positioning within the larger franchise and its development process. A segment of the panel focused on the game’s music, with Peter Berkman of the band Anamanaguchi joining to discuss the group’s involvement in composing the game’s soundtrack. A new track from the game was previewed during the event.
First Look at Gameplay
The teaser clip showcased the start of the game’s storyline, which follows Scott and Ramona on a new journey through a stylized version of Toronto. The plot revolves around the theft of the band Sex Bob-Omb’s instruments, with players guiding the characters across various locations in an effort to recover them. Settings include familiar city streets, waterfront areas, and more imaginative locations that may involve time travel and encounters with returning enemies.
