We’ve just seen the Xbox Partner Preview showcase and one trailer shown was one many had waited years for. Earlier today we had seen pre-order listings for a bundle called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone. This was for Japan and on. PlayStation 4 with a June release date. The bundle included the original game Shadow of Chernobyl along with the standalone releases Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat. The bundle is indeed a reality and shown at the showcase today. It was shown for Xbox with a release date of today. At the time of writing it has not hit the Xbox store.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone could still arrive on. PlayStation with the leaked pre-order date is the date Sony platforms get to experience the game. The bundle is going to be priced at $39.99 with each release available separately for $19.99. According to Xbox Wire, “every element from the original games has been maintained and faithfully ported to console thanks to the hard work of GSC Game World and their partners at Mataboo”. If you are wondering what the games are about about a year ago I revisited the PC version of Shadow of Chernobyl.
Bringing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends Of The Zone To Console
Zakhar Bocharov, the PR Specialist for GSC Game World spoke about how they finally brought these games to consoles for the very first time.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has been a PC franchise for a long time, so the key priorities were concentrated around adapting the experience for consoles as a whole (including, but not limited to, native controller support for console interfaces). We created everything from scratch, ensuring that the game was both easy to control and comfortable to play.
We wanted to bring S.T.A.L.K.E.R. to consoles for quite some time, and we worked closely with our trusted partners at Mataboo to make that happen. Despite the new release date for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, we decided to keep S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Legends of the Zone Trilogy in early 2024 to give the players some time to complete the originals before hopping into the sequel. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is a direct continuation of the plot and a standalone title, but obviously knowing the previous events and characters would help you to enjoy certain story moments, nods, and Easter eggs better”.
So finally it looks like everyone could soon experience life in the zone. It’s a release I’ve waited some time for. The sequel, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is set to launch on the 5th of September later this year. Also if you like this franchise another similar game we’ve reviewed previously is Chernobylite which is available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. It also received an enhanced version for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5
