It wasn’t so long ago we told you about the Fable reboot being playable. However, we didn’t know if that was a small section or the full game. We don’t know how far in development the game is or even when it’s coming out. It may be only March but I am personally not expecting to see the game launch this year. Playground Games also works on the Forza Horizon franchise and are finishing up the second expansion on Forza Horizon 5. We can hear more from their reboot once that is launched. With the game Creative Director leaving to form a new studio we also don’t know if Ralph Fulton is heading up the expansion as he’s not been the lead for this release. He has been the creative director of the franchise recently.
Now Fable is the basis of a rumor that’s circulating and also involved two other first-party Microsoft games. One is Avowed by Obsidian and the other is Ninja Theory with Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. With Ninja Theory posting a recent developer diary saying that Hellblade 2 development is well underway it’s no surprise people brought the game back up.
Where Fable Fits Into All This
Journalist Andy Robinson spoke on a VGC podcast. There was speculation about what will appear on an Xbox summer showcase this year. And according to Pure Xbox claims to know something about what to expect. If we discount Forza which is due soon. Redfall in May the next big title is Starfield. Then he claims that the next games being focused on are Hellblade 2 and Avowed. The Fable link is the surprise at development time.
I think the nearest ones for them are Hellblade [2] and probably Avowed. That’s the next big thing for them that they’ll be talking about. From my understanding those two are the closest.
It’s still pretty stunning that Fable is still miles away, Perfect Dark is not close, Everwild is not close […] Everything looks so great on paper and it’s just, the games are just not quite ready yet.
This is only one person at this stage stating this. We will know more come the Summer
