No one can debate just how iconic the Resident Evil franchise is. With its roots so deep in the original PlayStation to modern-day consoles, it features new, exciting, and refreshing takes on its formula while remaking the older games. With millions of copies sold across all platforms, it’s no wonder that Capcom decided to drop a new and exciting trailer at The Game Awards for Resident Evil Requiem. They announced that the iconic protagonist of Resident Evil 4, Leon Kennedy, will be making his return to the 9th installment in an epic action-packed trailer!
What We Learned from the Recent Trailer for Resident Evil Requiem
Chainsaws, headshots, and roundhouse kicks were major highlights from the trailer. Sure, Leon looks just as cool as ever, but at the end of the day, the action is the most important in a game like Resident Evil. To feature Leon in this entry was definitely a surprise that the community has gone crazy over.

But it did not stop there, as Capcom confirmed that Leon’s story will be intertwined with Grace’s story, allowing Resident Evil Requiem to have a dual protagonist approach. More details on the game will be shown early next year in another Resident Evil showcase. But for now, below will be the trailer from The Game Awards 2025 in all of its gory glory.
Resident Evil Requiem will be available on February 27th for $69.99 USD on PC and modern consoles. Including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 (surprisingly enough).
