It seems that Resident Evil fans are getting a treat soon. It’s been over a year since Resident Evil Village launched; and while there have been no updates if there will be any DLC content or expansions to the Mercenaries mode. It seems that Capcom is at least wanting to support the last-gen titles as the Resident Evil next-gen patches will carry over save data.
Earlier this month the Official RE Twitter account announced that they were going to be introducing next-gen enhancements and visuals for Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7. These would be a free digital upgrade on both the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, there was no word about the save data being carried over.
But, luckily they confirmed last week that all save data from the PS4 and Xbox One versions will be able to transfer to their respective next-gen versions. How to transfer the saves though was not stated at the time. But knowing that the Xbox data is similar and goes through the cloud; it’s a good indication that it will utilize Smart Delivery. And on Playstation they more than likely will need to do a manual transfer as we’ve seen in the past.
Either way, for fans of these games it is exciting news to be able to see them all in updated graphics and visuals and hopefully higher frame rates. And being able to carry over any save data is a bigger bonus. Are you all excited that there is gonna be a Resident Evil next-gen patch, let us know down below.
