Resident Evil news closed the latest Capcom show. A few announcements for the franchise were shown and with so much information let’s quickly break down what we saw. First up was the news about the 8th main game in the series, Village. There is a Gold Edition coming on the 28th of October, just in time to scare a new wave of players for Halloween.
The RE: Village Gold edition will naturally include the base game as well as the Winters expansion. What do we get in this expansion? The long-awaited DLC is called Shadows of Rose. This is about Ethan’s daughter Rose and is set 16 years on. She is shown returning to locations in Village as she tries to learn more about her powers. Lady Dimitrescu, Chris Redfield, and Karl Heisenberg will be included as part of the new content for the Mercenaries mode. We also get the option to play the game in third-person mode, which will be the mode for the DLC. Resident Evil Re: Verse will launch alongside this.
The Rest Of The Resident Evil News
We got a brief glimpse of Resident Evil 4 in new footage and how they want they want to keep the essence of the 2005 original and preserve its identity but also keep it modern. Similar to what we have seen with previous remakes.
Finally, the news focused on the upgraded trilogy of the previous two remakes of the second and third game and Resident Evil 7. We reported we could potentially see a release date at this showcase and that is very much the case. The release date stated available immediately. However, that will likely be going off Japan time which the showcase started at 7 am for Japan. At the time of writing the Xbox store is showning the trilogy with the XS Logo on the game tile but not listed as optimized. The PlayStation store does have the PlayStation 5 upgrades available.
