You may be aware that the next remake of the Resident Evil saga is coming. We’ve already seen Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes. Also back when the Game Cube was available the original Resident Evil. Around this era Resident Evil 4 was launched and we can now preorder the remake that’s due next year. However, fans also want another title in the series remade. That game is Resident Evil Code Veronica.
This originally launched back in 2000. That’s five years before Resident Evil 4 found so many feel this installment is long overdue for a remake. In 2019 a group of fans started a remake that matches the remakes for Resident Evil 2 and 3. That can be found here with a demo available. This isn’t the first fan remake, Resident Evil 2 Reborn had to be canceled due to an official remake and became Daymare 1998.
Will Capcom Remake Resident Evil Code Veronica
At present naturally, they are focusing on the remake of Resident Evil 4 and the Winters Expansion for Resident Evil Village. That is due out on 28th October. An article by Noisy Pixel contains an interview with Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, the producer of the Resident Evil 4 Remake. His response is that “there are no concrete plans to develop Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake, but if the “opportunity comes, maybe.”. Though it’s not a definite no remake it’s a potential future project. What are your thoughts on this news? Are you a fan of Code Veronica? It did receive modern ports in the form of Code Veronica X. Hopefully Capcom will see the fan remake and takes note.
