A Plague Tale Requiem, the sequel from Asobo Studio’s A Plague Tale Innocence which launched in 2019 is set to release soon. It was updated for the newer generation of consoles and is one game I personally recommend. Now as we get close to the launch of A Plague Tale Requiem, we have some more information
This information is provided by mp1st as it came from an Interview in Edge magazine. They spoke with Kevin Choteau who is the director of Requiem and how they benefitted from working on the new console generation. So according to the interview they have rebuilt the gameplay. So we have a rebuilt AI and visuals for starters. This is what he told Edge.
In Innocence, some parts could look a bit like a theatre set due to technical limitations. For Requiem, we’ve been able to push the horizon much farther. And all of these advancements are made to serve the narrative. When we write, [the increased quality] allows us to consider sequences that were previously impossible, such as chases with hundreds of thousands of rats, or locations that evolve dynamically according to the story and events.
As For A Plague Tale Requiem on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
We know it’s coming to the Switch but as a cloud-based release. For last-gen hardware, it’s also not good news. As well as the Switch, it is also launching on PC and PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. However, there is no launch on the last gen hardware at all. We’ve seen only the gameplay from the day they announced the release date. Meaning it will be interesting to see where A Plague Tale Requiem improves on its predecessor. There are just over three months from its October launch so we will all see for ourselves soon enough.
