Republic of Pirates, a city-builder meets pirate simulator, is set to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 25th, 2025. During the Golden Age of Piracy, you start with a small crew and a single ship. Your goal is to build the ultimate pirate utopia. While managing buildings and citizens, you will assemble an epic fleet of ships and heroic captains. This allows for large-scale naval battles as you expand your territory and take down rivals.
Three different ways to plunder
Republic of Pirates features three gameplay modes. Campaign mode has story missions to show you the ropes while charting a course through a narrative of avenging your father’s murder. The free play mode features four maps with unique characteristics, offering a more relaxed experience. The custom map editor allows you to customize everything from the number of islands to faction behavior. It will also enable you to share the map seed, in case you create a super fun or challenging setup.

- Create a resource-based economy – Utilize 100+ unique buildings to provide the essential resources for growth. Supply citizens with goods, develop their proficiency, and unlock new tiers of industry.
- Engage in real-time naval battles – Command a fleet to explore and conquer the archipelago. Engage in real-time strategic combat and switch to the tactical map to plan and execute your next raid.
- Conduct diplomacy – Manage dynamic relationships with pirate crews and trading companies. Harbor rivalries and forge alliances while navigating a diplomatic web where no action goes unnoticed.
- Expand your fleet – Construct 8 unique ship classes and customize your fleet’s appearance. Recruit talented captains, hone their skills in battle, and experiment with a variety of combat tactics.
- Undertake missions – Collect bounties or strike trade deals to influence your standing in the Caribbean. Race to fulfill urgent requests and embellish your settlements with exotic rewards.
- Includes customizable free play mode – Discover additional pre-made maps or create your own using the map editor. Customize everything from island count to faction behavior.
Republic of Pirates is out now on Steam and Epic Games Store. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are scheduled to drop on September 25, 2025.
