Recently, I decided to revisit one of my favorite games of all time: the iconic western adventure from Rockstar, Red Dead Redemption. In May of last year, rumors emerged about a possible remake or remaster of the popular 2010 release. Considering that half of the map is already present in the 2018 sequel/prequel, Red Dead Redemption 2, it wouldn’t be a difficult project for the developer. However, in July, it seemed that a Red Dead Redemption remake or remaster was not going to happen, due to the release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition in November 2021. This also affected rumored plans for a GTA 4 remaster. The poor reception of the trilogy and the problems it had led to the shelving of any remake or remaster plans. Or, so it was thought.
Red Dead Redemption Remake Could Still Live On
It seems it could, and the story was picked up by GamesRadar, who reported information found on reddit. It seems that Rockstar magazine, who have reported Rockstar news before state the project is still on the way. The video in French can be found below.
This remake or remaster would launch on console and also bring the game to the PC for the first time. Console wise we aren’t sure what systems but there’s a good chance it would be every console platform. It may not even be a full remake but a visual overhaul similar to the GTA trilogy from 2021. This is still just a rumour at this stage so take this all lightly for now. As always we’d love to hear your thoughts so why not get in touch
