Rain On Your Parade and More – Backlog Journey

“Sorry to Rain On Your Parade, backlog” see what I did there I got the dad joke out early. Seriously though, the size of this backlog is shrinking at a steady pace. Now I have to be honest, a few of the titles I have completed have taken less than 10 hours to complete. There weren’t any specific rules around what type of games I am completing but, simply that I beat them. Now outside of running through shorter indie titles, I have been beating a few AAA ones as well.

Ruin People’s Good Time As A Cloud

Firstly, please refrain from throwing any digital stones my way for what you are going to read next. I finally beat the main story of Elder Scrolls Skyrim, yes you read that correctly. I am one of the suckers who have bought that title on every platform it has released on since 11/11/11. Hundreds maybe even pushing closer to a thousand hours in the icy realm of Skyrim. Now for those who have played this never ending title you can understand how easy it is to get off track. The major reason this took me years to complete was because of my sick enjoyment of crafting and enchanting. So finally I made the death march to Sovengarde to defeat Alduin, that dragon is slain for good now (on the switch version at least).

Also, I had the opportunity to review the new AA title Biomutant. This game had a large amount of hype in the months before its release. It did not get the best reception but I had fun with the beautiful-looking game. Moving on to the indie titles I rolled end credits on, Unto The End and Rain On Your Parade. Unto The End, a side scroller souls like, where you are fighting to get home to your family. A brutal game that has no mercy while being fair. Now on the other end of the spectrum is Rain On Your Parade, one of the cutest games in existence. You are a cloud that literally goes around ruining people’s days and sometimes lives.

Check Out Unto The End

The games I am currently working on, Star Renegade (Switch), Wasteland 3, Fallout 4, Gears 5 Hive Busters, and Final Fantasy XV. Now of course I will pick up more games along the way (because I have issues). This journey through the never-ending backlog has seriously renewed that childhood spark that gaming used to bring on. Thank you folks for reading along and following my quest to not hoard video games.
