Next year QuakeCon will turn 30 years old! This marks the 29th QuakeCon which began its first days as early as the primitive internet of that era, it was truly one of a kind at its time in the 1990s. DOOM and QUAKE ushered in the first true push for LAN and multiplayer gaming, bringing the word deathmatch to the vocabulary of gamers everywhere.
From August 7-10, 2025, id software, Bethesda, Xbox, Microsoft, Raven Software and many other teams come together to celebrate the best in first person shooters today and bringing back old classics, preserved and updated for generations to enjoy. It has become a tradition recently that each QuakeCon brings a new Nightdive Studios remaster focusing on the early days of first person shooters.

New Nightdive Studios Remaster OUT NOW – Heretic+Hexen

DOOM Eternal Mods OUT NOW on PC

Mods are now officially supported in DOOM Eternal, with over 650 community-made mods available!
“Community-created mods have been around nearly as long as the FPS genre. They have played an essential role in building communities and in extending the life of many games. Modding has launched the careers of countless game developers and have even given life to entirely new games, many of which are still beloved today. Few games have had a greater impact on the modding scene than the original DOOM. Last year, we launched DOOM Eternal mods as an open beta branch on Steam and on the Windows Store/Xbox PC app. Now, with over 650 mods made by the community, we are officially bringing mods to DOOM Eternal”

DOOM The Dark Ages Update 2.0 OUT NOW

The biggest update yet for DOOM The Dark Ages it out now!
“This update adds the Ripatorium, an endless arena mode that lets players set up their own combat encounters within 3 unique arenas using a simple menu interface. Also included are two new DOOM Slayer skins (see below for unlock criteria), a loopable demo for Benchmark Mode on PC and a slew of other improvements and bug fixes”
More amazing fixes include a total re-balance of the audio for both sound effects and music, changes to weapon switching speed and the ability to interrupt anything to block an attack and many more quality of life changes!
