Billbil-kun claims the Quake II remaster’s ESRB rating will go public on August 11, hinting at an announcement around August 10-11.
While details on the remaster are scarce, a 2021 Quake ray tracing demo gives us an idea of how Quake II could look with modern graphical upgrades. The demo included ray traced lighting, shadows, and reflections that dramatically improved the atmosphere and immersion.
