The remastered Quake II is expected to launch on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. So fans on all major platforms will be able to enjoy the upgraded visuals and gameplay of this classic 90s FPS.

The release date leak comes from billbil-kun, a leaker with a proven track record of accurately revealing PlayStation Plus games and other gaming news ahead of official announcements. Billbil-kun claims the Quake II remaster’s ESRB rating will go public on August 11, hinting at an announcement around August 10-11.

While details on the remaster are scarce, a 2021 Quake ray tracing demo gives us an idea of how Quake II could look with modern graphical upgrades. The demo included ray traced lighting, shadows, and reflections that dramatically improved the atmosphere and immersion.
