So for many, it may seem a lifetime ago we saw the news Pyramid Head would be striking fear again with the announcement of a Silent Hill 2 remake. That was way back in October 2022 when it was revealed the rumors at the time were true. We also saw other projects, but it was the remake many were waiting for. The original release was a classic for its time and one of the most loved horror titles. If you are wondering how the game holds up today we revisited it and we results are found here.
The story of James Sunderland and Pyramid Head goes back to 2001. Meaning we are very close to the world of Silent Hill 2 celebrating a quarter of a century. Since that reveal we’ve seen little official to even help fans work out when the remake by Bloober Team is coming. We’ve seen it appear in a PlayStation video of 2024 releases posted back in early January. Since then we had a brief glimpse at gameplay in a recent State of Play. However, fans have had otherwise seen very little of the game. Though recent developments could indicate this may change.
Pyramid Head Gearing Up For His Return
The new being is the game has received a rating which can be found in the post on Twitter/X below. The story was broken by Gematsu.
Naturally with the rating coming from the South Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee, it isn’t in English. Though thanks to Google Translate we can provide a clearer look at the listing below.

The date posted is February 29th and the listing states it’s a “horror adventure” game where we meet a woman who “resembles his deceased wife in a village of memories”. We also see the following
- Excessive expressions of violence
- – There is excessive gore due to blows and hits, and there are expressions of mutilation such as creatures being separated
- Expressions of excessive disgust and fear
- – There are expressions of disgust such as creatures with grotesquely composed limbs, and expressions of fear such as dreary backgrounds and bizarre sounds.
So we can expect the whole game to be available to be tested. It could also mean the announcement of a release date and/or the game launching is close to an announcement. However please note until we have official news take all this information lightly.
