I’m back with more manga goodness! This time I’m going over one of my favorite series of all time which is also an underrated masterpiece, Psyren. So let’s open our minds and dive right into this psychic battle manga! This is Psyren: The Great Underrated Manga. There will be some slight spoilers so be warned.

Brain Power Battle aka Great Fights

Psyren is a series that has a great power system in which the abilities are psychic powers that take shape in many unique and flexible ways. The powers are fun to see in combat and to see how characters adapt their powers to the fight. There are so many great fights in the series that are unique for the time the manga came out. One such fight is with the telepathic character Sakurako Amamiya.

In this fight, Amamiya is up against a physically strong enemy who seems to have her on the ropes. However, it is revealed that most of the fight simply took place in her opponent’s mind as she use her telepathy to mess with them. I know I’m not doing the fight justice but there are many great moments like this one. I love Psyren please read it.

Great Characters

The characters are all fun and unique to see within the series, they each have great goals and wants that the reader can sympathize with. For me, the main cast is one of the best in Shounen Jump during the mangas run back in the 2000s. While reading Psyren I found that I liked every character even the ones who aren’t as developed as others. Let’s take Sakurako once again.

One of the main plot points for Sakurako’s character is that because of the many things that have happened in her life she has developed a split personality. She has to fight against her other self to keep control of herself and mixed with their unique telepathy the dynamic is quite good to read. In the end, it all works out for the better. I love this manga.

The Plot And Twist

The plot is a really great written and thought out with many mysteries to be uncovered. A strange phone card for a payphone when used you have a choice to take a survey when taken the mysterious figure Q. After a bit you will start to hear a ringing phone by answering you will be taken to another apocalyptic world. This is the basic plot of Psyren and it is up to the characters to find why this world is in ruins.

Reading as the secrets unfold is so great and fun. There is a major spoiler that I don’t want to say however when you get to it the series ramps up even more. I love this manga and the story is one of the biggest reasons. It’s a great manga ……please read it.

Parting words…. I need sleep

Psyren is one the best underrated manga I have ever read. And I know I didn’t cover even a fraction of what makes it great. This was Psyren: The Great Underrated Manga. To read the manga (which you should) go to Viz and for more of my work go to Caleb J on lv1 Gaming. Thanks for reading and until next time I’m out!
