The PS5 DualSense drift complaints have been showing up on Reddit and Twitter since its November launch. Limited solutions to the drift issue look to have led to the class action lawsuit. Filed on February 12th, the complaint made in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The plaintiff Lmarc Turner and other affected customers are claiming that the DualSense is defective (via Eurogamer). The law firm Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith the legal team behind the Joy-Con drift class action are also the law firm running this one.
Customers are experiencing long wait times and having to deal with a maze of pre-recorded phone prompts before finally speaking with an agent concerning repairs for DualSense controller drift
Advised by Sony customer support the client reset his console and that did not remedy the issue. So next step taken was the purchase of another DualSense controller. The law firm is looking to have a jury trial and is looking for monetary compensation for the plaintiffs.
Had Plaintiff been aware of the drift defect prior to purchasing his PS5, he otherwise would not have purchased the PS5, or would have paid substantially less for it,”
This is not the first instance of drift issues with video game controllers and class action lawsuits. The Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con Drift issue as well as Microsoft’s “stick drift” Xbox One controller problems. Well with the current Sony issue they have yet to comment on it.
