Private Division is publishing a new Lord of The Rings game under development by the Weta Workshop. Based on J.R.R Tolkien’s Middle-earth universe, the coming title is bound to get many dedicated fans of the franchise in a frenzy. The untitled game is currently still in early development. However, expectations suggest that the launch date could be as early as 2024.
Private Division is a publishing label for Take-Two Interactive and is most known for games such as The Outer Worlds, Hades, and most recently, Rollerdrome. Weta Workshop is a visual effect and animation company founded in 1987. Since its inception, Weta Workshop has provided visual effects for many great movies, including the Lord of The Rings film trilogy. Weta Workshop has also formed a video game division back in 2014.
“We are thrilled to partner with Wētā Workshop to publish a game set in such an extraordinary and celebrated universe. The Lord of the Rings IP is home to so many remarkable stories, and no entity is better equipped than the team at Wētā Workshop to create a distinctive, new Middle-earth gaming experience.”
