At this point, those who are still in denial about the majority, if not all, PlayStation first-party games coming to PC should just welcome the inevitable. PlayStation exclusives on PC is something that will soon become the norm. Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan recently stated that more games are soon to come to the PC platform.
“We find ourselves now in early 2021 with our development studios and the games that they make in better shape than they’ve ever been before. Particularly from the latter half of the PS4 cycle, our studios made some wonderful, great games. There’s an opportunity to expose those great games to a wider audience and recognize the economics of game development, which are not always straightforward. The cost of making games goes up with each cycle, as the caliber of the IP has improved.”
This statement was made at the same time PlayStation announced that Sony Bend’s Days Gone would be getting a release on Steam. This following Guerilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn already making an appearance on the platform. These moves feel like Sony testing the water. Releasing games from the previous generation is a great way to make extra revenue as those without a Ps4 will gladly pay for games there previously could not play.
The real question now is how long until Sony completely mimics Microsoft and releases its title days one on PC. Although I feel this will happen one day, that day is possibly a gaming generation away. In the meantime, let’s look at what tiles would be a great next move to PC.
God Of War

As it stands Kratos is probably the most recognizable PlayStation character. God Of War 2018 was a hit. Dubbed by a lot as the game of the previous generation. The new style of God of War was immediately accepted and loved by its fans. With God of War Ragnorok set to release in 2021/2022, what better way to entice PC players to buy a PlayStation 5 by releasing the 2018 game on Steam and allowing them to see why they need to play the sequel as soon as possible.
Bloodborne

Okay, technically FromSoftware’s Bloodborne is not a first-party PlayStation title however, it is exclusive to the PlayStation console. This is a souls-borne title that players have desperately wanted to experience at 60fps and beyond. It has been speculated that this title will get that treatment on PlayStation 5 however, it would be a great addition to the PC platform.
The Last of Us 1 & 2

What is arguably the best game from the 7th generation and the most controversial game from the 8th gen should definitely make its way to PC next. The Last of Us franchise is something that just has to be experienced firsthand. Watching youtube videos or reading about what happens on Twitter does not do the franchise justice. The already visually stunning Last of Us 2 would be a marvel to look at on a high-end PC.
