It’s highly unlikely you missed the Cyberpunk news last week. CD Projekt Red announced a live stream and during this stream, we got a glimpse of the upgraded versions of Cyberpunk. Previously it only had a native version for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. So owners of the newer consoles had to play via backward compatibility. However, on the streams, they made the 1.5 updates available for download.
Though things post update hasn’t gone as smoothly as the developers would have liked. We’ve seen reports on a support page from CD Projekt Red about issues upgrading from PlayStation 4 if you had a physical copy of the game. However, a fix is on the cards and it seems that Sony took action on this.
At the time of writing those on PlayStation 4 will get a system update. Though why it needs a system update to fix the issues of Cyberpunk is an interesting route. It could be discussions Sony and CD Projekt Red found the issue was on Sony’s side. The announcement of this news was made on Twitter by the official PlayStation support page. We’re aware of an issue with the disc version of Cyberpunk 2077 not launching on PS4 after installing the latest game patch. We plan to release a system update for PS4 tomorrow, Feb 19th (PST) to address the issue. We thank you for your patience.
