We are close to thirty years of PlayStation and we’ve seen the news of a PlayStation 5 Pro. The big talking point was the price tag which is $699.99 US / £699.99 / €799.99. Now that’s not the only PlayStation 5 Pro news or even PlayStation news in general as Sony has something to lined up for the PlayStation 30th Anniversary. So let’s look at what we have to look forward to for this coming anniversary.
Now we have a whole range of new hardware to take advantage of the PlayStation 30th Anniversary which was explained in depth on a recent PlayStation Blog post. All of the upcoming releases to celebrate this will have a retro grey color scheme. However it’s not just the consoles, we have controllers as well as the PlayStation Portal. The PlayStation 5 Pro is the most limited as it will a number of 12,300 units made globally available.
The PlayStation 30th Anniversary Hardware Release Details
As we previously mentioned we have more information on the PlayStation Blog. So what are we expecting to be made available? First of let’s look at the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro release. In fact it will be part of a bundle which includes the following.
- Includes the limited edition PS5 Pro console with 2TB SSD, Wi-Fi 7 in territories supporting this standard, and matching limited edition accessories – DualSense wireless controller, DualSense Edge wireless controller, DualSense Charging Station, and a Console Cover for a Disc Drive (Disc Drive sold separately).
It also includes a Vertical Stand and special collector’s Items:
- Original PlayStation controller-style cable connector housing
- Four PlayStation Shapes cable ties
- PlayStation sticker
- Limited Edition PlayStation Poster (1 of 30 possible designs)
- PlayStation Paperclip
As for the other releases.
- PlayStation Portal Remote Player – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition (standalone)
- DualSense Edge Wireless Controller – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition (standalone)
- DualSense Wireless Controller – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition (standalone)
When This Collection Is Available To Preorder And Buy.
The blog post informs us all items will be released on the 21st of November. As for preorders if your region has the store available, if you have a PlayStation Network account can pre-order the following PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection products exclusively from PlayStation starting 26th September.
Otherwise pre orders begin on the same date at participating retailers which the blog post doesn’t state at this stage. At the time of writing it may be worth checking with stores that generally sell deluxe editions such as GameStop in the US or GAME in the UK. The following items will be available to preorder on 26th September.
