Nintendo had quite the kickoff to their newest direct. Starting with a brand new look at the upcoming Pikmin 4. And it was quite the tease showing off many new aspects of the game as Pikmin 4 gets a new gameplay trailer and a release date.
In the video, we get to see the return of those Iconic Pikmin of red, yellow, and blue doing their thing as our ever-lovable space explorer searches this world for treasures. However, within the trailer, we get to see some new Pikmin that have some unique abilities. Such as the ice Pikmin being able to freeze enemies and the environment. As well as the introduction of a puppy-style creature.
That’s right, you can now find an adorable pup that can help you out on your journey. Able to destroy larger obstacles, as well as move large enemies or move bigger objects on his own. However, he can most notably swim across water allowing you to ride on top, with the Pikmin hanging on.
Capping off the video we find a castaway, another lost traveler. Before a showdown with a creepy-looking boss fight. After the fight, the castaway is saved and the team flies off before ending with a release date of July 21st of this year.
However, at the tail end of the video, we get a small secret glimpse. The land is covered in darkness and it’s night time and we see a monster with glowing red eyes. Suggesting that nighttime levels may power up enemies.
