Pathea Games, acclaimed developers of the My Time series have announced a third game in the franchise: MyTime at Evershine. So what will Evershine offer this time around? Let’s find out.
Gameplay
As series veterans will know, we’ve played as Builders working on odd jobs here and there to improve the city. But this time it would seem we’ll be playing as a Governor instead. This would suggest a much greater focus on administration and city planning as opposed to the construction or assembly side.
The trailer put out by Pathea Games shows off some combat as well. From the small peak we get, it seems that not much will change aside from some quality-of-life improvements.
The last major aspect of the My Time games is the relationships. It sounds like there will be a larger number of characters to get to know. More than Sandrock at least. Seeing as the game will center around pioneers settling in for a new life expect many tough-as-nails types.
Graphics
The trailer reveals that the game is taking a different direction with its art. Both Portia and Sandrock take on a more cartoony look with their characters. It would seem that Evershine wishes to deviate from that pattern and make the characters more realistic in terms of shape. Other elements of the game such as the enemies, environment, and the like all appear to stick to the established theme.
My Thoughts on Evershine Announcement
As a fan of both of the past titles, I am eager to see what Pathea Games go with this time around. It’s evident that they want to do something different with Evershine without completely throwing away the series’ defining characteristics. It would seem that Duvos, the antagonistic Empire in the north, will have a strong presence in the game as the events of Sandrock suggest.
