This month, PlayStation 5 owners received two console exclusives that were well received. The biggest one is obviously Helldivers 2. Which is so popular that there is interest from fans on Xbox for the title as well. The other title in focus today is Pacific Drive, a survival game that has just been released. I recently looked at the PC demo and ultimately purchased the game for PlayStation 5. So, why is this survival game being talked about and wanted on Xbox? With these questions in mind, let’s dig a little deeper into this story.

We know that the game is available on Playstation and on PC via Steam and Epic. The game is developed by Ironwood Studios, a Seattle-based studio. They’re a studio with an impressive pedigree of support, with titles like Forza Motorsport, Halo Infinite, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Resistance 3, Ratchet and Clank, and many more. So they have worked on Nintendo, Xbox and PlayStation exclusives. Though now why is their existing title only on PlayStation and PC?

We’ve seen a few people on various social media platforms ask for the release of Pacific Drive on Xbox. Hardware-wise, it appears to be a viable option. I would not expect a Switch release, even though we don’t know what the console’s successor will offer in terms of specs. The developers responded, simply stating they have nothing new to say about the game’s release on other platforms. However, they will announce it when they do.
