Oxenfree II: Lost Signals’ release has been postponed by Night School Studio. The developer revealed on Saturday that Oxenfree 2 won’t be released until 2023. The studio announced the change on Twitter, writing, “We’re moving our release window to 2023 to make Oxenfree II truly amazing and include additional localizations.” Shortly after Netflix stated that its users could download the original game for free when word of the delay broke.

In 2021, the massive streaming service bought Night School Studio. It makes perfect sense to devote extra work to localizing the game in multiple languages given Netflix’s international audience. The new “Netflix Edition” has support for subtitles in more than 30 languages as of this writing. Next year, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals will be released on Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
