But not all things are as bleak as they seem Overwatch 2 is here!
If you tried to boot up Overwatch today you may notice your inability to log in to a server. The reason being as tomorrow October 4th, Overwatch 2 officially launches. Available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC!
More than six years later, Overwatch 2 also becomes Free to Play. A huge change as the barrier to entry for all users is now nonexistence. For new and existing players if you log into the servers during Season One you will receive two heroes. Junker and Sojourn. Players who owned the original Overwatch will also receive Kiriko through their Founders Pack.
Changes to Overwatch 2’s Monetization
The new game will be ditching the original games loot box system in favor of the more popular Battle Pass system. Along side Premium Character skins abled to be purchased separately. With Season One there will be over 80 cosmetics to unlock alone. As well there is a $40 pack available to users right now if they want to get head start in your career. The Overwatch 2: Watchpoint pack contains the Season One Premium Battle Pass, seven legendary skins, five epic skins, 2,000 Overwatch Coins and instant access to Kiriko.
