Octopath Traveler 0 just dropped a demo, and the best part? All of your progress carries over into the full game! That means the time you spend playing now actually counts when the full game releases on December 4th. No need to start over; you can jump right back in where you left off.

This demo was announced during the Sony State of Play this week, and it’s available on every major platform: PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, Xbox, and PC. That’s a huge win for players no matter what console they own.

The demo itself is around three hours long. You’ll get to create your own character and play through the first full chapter of the story. It’s a perfect way to get a real taste of the game before it launches. And since everything carries over, it feels more like a head start than a demo.

Square Enix really knocked it out of the park with this one. Too many games make you replay everything once the full version releases, but this “play now, continue later” idea is a total W. It respects players’ time and builds excitement for the full release.

If you’re a fan of beautiful pixel art, turn-based combat, and rich stories, this is one demo you shouldn’t skip. Octopath Traveler 0 is shaping up to be one of the biggest RPGs of the year, and this demo shows that Square Enix is listening to fans.

So go grab the demo, start your adventure, and get ready to continue your journey on December 4th—your progress is waiting for you!
