Next Level VR Spelunking – Cave Crave

Cave Crave

Cave Crave, developed by 3R Games and published by Take IT Studio!, is bringing the excitement and terror of spelunking to VR. Available now on Meta Quest (2, 3, and 3s) and releasing on July 10 for PlayStation VR2, this title is claimed to be the most realistic VR Spelunking game out there.

True free climbing, no built-in maps, on top of realistic environments, sounds like a prime way to experience cave diving from home.

Story Mode
Start your journey with the first chapter of the story-driven expedition. A second map pack expanding the narrative is already in development and will be released as a free update shortly after launch.

Tourist Mode
Take your time to explore already visited caves without pressure or danger. Perfect for those who want to enjoy the environment and soundtrack in peace.

Horror Mode
A completely optional standalone mode that plunges players into mysterious depths. Face the unknown where your tools are your only protection. Not recommended for the faint-hearted.

Gameplay Highlights

Mind-bending cave systems
Say goodbye to generic, repetitive level design. Cave Crave features hand-crafted, natural cave layouts that challenge spatial awareness and orientation.

Realistic environments
Feel the atmosphere as you explore detailed rock formations, interact with physics-based objects, and navigate terrain shaped by nature. The cave lives and breathes around you – sometimes literally.

Chalk your way
With no built-in map, players must rely on chalk markings to create their own trail and avoid getting lost deep beneath the surface.

True free climbing
Climb any surface using natural body motion and climbing tools. Walls, ceilings, narrow ledges – every surface is a potential path forward.

Breath management
Squeeze through extremely tight spaces or prepare for underwater cave diving – a mechanic arriving in the first free post-launch update.

Break barriers
Use tools like hammers and pickaxes to smash stalactites, clear rubble, and forge new paths through obstructed tunnels.
