During Xbox’s showcase, this past Sunday had many amazing games on show. With the likes of Fable, Forza Motorsport, and Starfield with some surprises like Towerborne, South of Midnight, and Clockwork Revolution. However, for fans of RPGs, specifically JRPGs, like myself; the biggest shock came from Atlus announcing new Persona games coming soon.
With the recent work that Xbox has been putting in Japan, it is no surprise that they would want to continue that trend. As well as with the relationship with SEGA and now Atlus it is showing. After the success of the launch of Persona 5 Royal back in October of last year. As well as the Launch of Person 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden back in January, many were asking what’s next.
While the announcement had fans very excited, it was also a bit known. Namely due to the fact that the news was announced just a bit early, by none other than Atlus themselves. During the Summer Games Fest show last week, the Official Atlus Instagram account accidentally posted the trailers. These were for the now official Persona 3 Remake officially titled Reload. As well as the newest game in the ever-growing Persona 5 collection of titles, Persona 5 Tactica. P5T is a tactics-based game, in the vein of games like Final Fantasy Tactics or Fire Emblem.
For the fans, this is a great sign from 5 years ago when it seemed almost impossible. Things are looking up for those wanting more Japanese titles on Xbox. The only game now missing from the Persona 5 collection on the platform is Strikers. Acting as an official sequel to the base game.
Persona 3 Reload will be launching in 2024 and will be on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on Windows, as well as will be launching in Gamepass. There are no additional confirmed platforms yet. Persona 5 Tactica will be Launching on November 17th this year. It will be on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and on PC for Steam and Windows. It will also be launching day and date on Xbox Gamepass.
