Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test Announced

Capcom has released many trailers for Monster Hunter Wilds since it was announced last year at Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards. Each trailer has focused on showcasing various bits of new environments, monster hunts, and more. Such is the case of the recent Showcase Stream for the game. Capcom not only revealed the new Oilwell Basin ecosystem but also the Black Flame monster. They also surprised and delighted their fanbase with the announcement of an open beta for the title. Here is what you can expect from it, and when you can whet your appetite for the highly anticipated game!

When can you Expect to Beta Test Monster Hunter Wilds?

As you can see below, PlayStation 5 owners get first dibs on the beta. Allowing you to play from October 28th to October 30th before Xbox Series console owners and Steam players. Playing the beta will also give you a free stuffed Felyne pendant cosmetic item and pack of helpful items to use in the full game next year.

Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Schedule

As for what you can expect in the Monster Hunter Wilds beta, you can enjoy three different experiences:

  • A Story Trial, where players can experience the opening cutscene of the game along with basic tutorials while hunting a Chatacabra.
  • A free roam Doshaguma Hunt, where players can pursue the Alpha of a Doshaguma pack or explore the Windward Plains at their leisure.
  • As well as being given the freedom to use the character creator tool and carry that character over to the full game.

In both the Story Trial and Doshaguma Hunt, you can either tackle them solo, or with other players via the SOS flare.
