They brought us the Modern Warfare franchise including the 2019 reboot to the original Modern Warfare. So it seemed that a sequel or reboot of Modern Warfare 2 was a natural progression. And that this would be the last title in the franchise before a Microsoft takeover is finalized.
However, now Activision has officially announced what to expect from Call Of Duty in 2022. We get a new game in the franchise and also get Warzone 2. However both of these releases with both using a brand new engine. So Call of Duty fans has not one but two releases to look forward to.
Call of Duty 2022 will be
The rumours were indeed true. The next title in the franchise is indeed a sequel to the 2019 reboot. So prepare yourselvrs for Modern Warfare 2. And both this and the new Warzone are being handled in the new engine by Infinity Ward. It is also expected to not be releasing on Xbox One consoles or the PlayStation 4 family. We know very little on the upgraded Warzone other than “expect a massive evolution of Battle Royale with all-new playspace and a new sandbox mode.” However Activision will no doubt reveal more info soon. Especially when the newer consoles over a year in people are still finding hard to purchase. However if this is the case, how this connects to the current Warzone we are yet to find out with many gamers still playing that today. So what do you think about this news? Are you happy to see a return to the Modern Warfare franchise? Whatever your thoughts on Modern Warfare 2, we’d love to hear from you.
