Luckily, I had the chance to play Mistfall Hunter from Bellring Games during their previous playtest, as I was unable to get hands-on experience at Play Days 2025 due to scheduling issues. But I did see many people enjoying the upcoming third-person action PVPVE extraction RPG. The core gameplay loop of Mistfall Hunter is fight, loot, and, if skilled enough, extract. A war between the gods has soaked the dark fantasy world of the game in chaos and corruption. Civilization has crumbled, but due to a piece of a divine goddess’s soul manifest as a maiden named Dew, fallen heroes (the player) are resurrected to fight the corrupted creatures of the land.
What makes Mistfall Hunter stand out from other PVPVE extraction titles is the actual extraction process. Just when you believe the fighting is over, you have to encounter another monster, the “Returner Woodling.” This bell-shaped creature holds the item called the “Soul of Return,” which is the way to successfully extract from the battlefield. Fortunately, the fight is not overly challenging, but it does require you to remain vigilant until you are back at the home base screen.
Mistfall Hunter Key Features
- FIGHT – Immerse yourself in smooth, third-person gameplay and fast-paced combat. Select your player class and then utilize both magic and steel to customize your combat style. Players can switch weapons during battles to adapt to various enemies. You can even team up with friends to execute surprising combos to secure victory over any who may challenge your greatness.
- LOOT – There are rich treasures in the ruins guarded by the Corroded, or even terrifying Mist Lord. Fight these powerful creatures for spoils or take the quicker route by hunting down and looting other Gylden Hunters. Just be careful. If you die, you lose everything.
- EXTRACT – To successfully escape from the ruins, players need to locate a rare monster called “Returner Woodling”. Defeating it grants an item called “Soul of Return.” With this item in hand, players can create their path home.
Mistfall Hunter has no official release date as of yet, but a release window of Q4 2025. It will be available on PC via Steam and Xbox Series X|S. If you go to the official website, you can wishlist and sign up to participate in upcoming betas.
