Fans of strategy games or strategy RPGs have had some positive news recently. Not only has Vanaris Tactics recently launched but if you are a fan of Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden and post-apocalyptic games there are a few games you may want to look at soon. The Bearded Ladies gave us Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden back in 2018 and now have a new game supposedly around the corner a game that I’d heard about and seeing some brief footage it did look promising. It’s a tactical adventure set in a post-apocalyptic world let me introduce a new RPG, Miasma Chronicles.
What can we expect from Miasma Chronicles and the Swedish studio? It seems this “Miasma” threatens the last of humanity as we know it and the website description says “America has been torn apart by a savage force known only as the ‘Miasma’. Meet Elvis, a young man brought to the mining town of Sedentary as a baby. Left by his mother in the care of a robotic older ‘brother’ and given a mysterious glove with which he can control the Miasma”. Looking further down it states that we will join Elvis and his brother in a quest across the post-apocalyptic landscape as they search for answers, and “answers which may change the course of human history forever”. The game will feature:
• Real-time exploration gameplay meets tactical, turn-based combat with RPG elements.
• Explore rich beautiful environments meeting outlandish characters.
• Upgradable weapons and abilities give your heroes the edge in combat.
• An involving fantasy story through which you learn the truth behind the Miasma.
We also have a new trailer which is shown below featuring gameplay.
Miasma Chronicles Release Details
The trailer above may be on the PlayStation channel but it’s not listed as an exclusive. The game’s official website also confirms a launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC. For PC the game will launch on Steam and Epic of course. However, we won’t be seeing this launch on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4. As for the games release the Twitter announcement tells us it’s launching digitally on 23rd May with a physical release on the 9th of June this year. Will you be picking this game up?
