This upcoming title about the relationship between sleep and dreams combines musical and visual art. Half Asleep, a Vancouver-based indie studio, is developing and publishing Melatonin. Even though this is Half Asleep’s first game, they have plans to create more dreamy titles in the future. Melatonin will also have a playable demo during Steam Next Fest in June 2022.
Music is important in this game because you must stay on beat in order to progress. You are exploring the main character’s mind while they are sleeping. You will face surreal challenges inspired by real-life situations. Hand-drawn levels combine with vibrant original music to create an immersive rhythmic experience. Melatonin will release later this year, and you’ll be able to see firsthand how the main character’s dreams are shaped by their reality, and vice versa.
- Stylish hand-drawn 4K artwork
- Vibrant music that flows with the gameplay and visuals
- A wide variety of dreamy levels, challenge modes, and mashups
- Audio and visual assist options for those new to rhythm games
More About The Developer Of Melatonin
David Huynh, who works under the studio name Half Asleep, is developing Melatonin in Vancouver. Before switching to independent game production, he worked in graphic design, interface design, and user experience design. This will be the developer’s first title, but after Melatonin is launched, there are big goals to establish a team and make more dreamy games.
Lo-Fi music is the first thing that comes to mind when looking at this title. It appears to be for those who enjoy cozy experiences. The design and color palette evokes a sense of calm. If this sounds interesting to you, make sure to go to Steam and wishlist Melatonin, which will be released later this year.
