The latest game dominating the competitive hero shooter scene, Marvel Rivals, made an explosive announcement this week about their upcoming Season 5 character additions, and fans are already foaming at the mouth at their excitement to play these 2 highly requested mutants: Remy and Anna Marie Lebeau

It’s no secret players had been wanting both Gambit and Rogue to feature in the successful 6v6 competitive shooter; in fact, there were even falsified leaks much earlier in the year in an effort to manifest them, but the wait is over for fans of the smooth-talking romantic and his powerhouse sweetheart because, come November 14th, the pair set the stage much to the celebration of fans.

“…I was holding a candle for Gambit though; He is a great Anti-Hero representing the Stan Lee vision of Everyone is a hero,” says one player returning to the game due to the announcement.

Several players have expressed confusion at the specific role that Gambit has been announced for, instead of the expected DPS, Remy will be a strategist that features anti-heal mechanics, giving concern for how to play around him, with one player speculating that burst healers like Jeff will need to shine to counter the card carrier.

“I was very surprised to see Gambit as a Strategist, considering Gambit’s powers… I’m excited to see how they fit his powers in that role.”

Rogue herself is also (according to leaks) a strategist, though that is less surprising given her power set of ability stealing, though it may be difficult for her to outshine the mainstay trickster Loki for the position of ability borrowing and enemy confusion.

This new season is dropping more than two big-name characters, though; one of the biggest additions is a new social mode and map. NetEase is introducing a Social Hub to this competitive shooter, where players can hang out with others in a noncombative environment with up to 100 players enjoying the area of Times Square. NetEase is also introducing cross-progression for players of all platforms to fight it out on whatever platform they choose while keeping all their hard-earned rewards and skins no matter the device.

The trailer for “Love is a Battlefield” does give us one more dangling bit of bait, however, hinting at the next hero to possibly make their way to the ever-growing roster, and this one is a character many are familiar with already, as he’s a long-standing staple of the X-Men: Scott Summers, better known as Cyclops.

Though we have no hard confirmation whether he will be a playable character or simply a catalyst for the plot to pull in the LeBeau’s, time will tell with that one, but I for one cannot wait to dive into the new season and climb the ranks once more.
