It seems the non-stop slew of games that were swarming to launch in spring are moving out of that time frame. Some delays we have seen recently like, Jedi Survivor or the new Amnesia game. However, one game made its official announcement for the West. The endless summer till destruction-themed JRPG, Loop8 launching in June.

Loop8: Summer of Gods was announced back in October of last year. Coming from XSeed the game had a previously announced launch date of March 16th in Japan. However, there was no date yet for the western release of the game. But Marvelous and XSeed unveiled a new trailer for the game in the US and Europe. You can see the new trailer down below:

At the end of the trailer, it reveals a date of June 6th. Coincidentally, the Summer game is launching in the Summer. Now the interesting thing is that the Japanese release of the game was delayed to coincide with the western launch. The game is now launching on June 1st, just a few days before the global launch. So unfortunately Japanese fans will have to wait a little bit longer, but it is nice to see global launches slowly becoming the norm as games launch in many regions and consoles all at the same time and not separated by months from one region to another.

Loop8 Summer of Gods will be launching on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. The game will be supported on Next-gen consoles through backward compatibility. What are your thoughts on Loop8 launching in June, let us know down below.

Game Summary:

A summer of your making in a world running out of time.

After the Kegai forced humanity to the brink of extinction, the survivors fled to the stars. Raised on a failed space station known as the ‘Hope’, high school student Nini returns to Earth to spend his summer in the rural Japanese town of Ashihara, one of humanity’s last remaining sanctuaries. Though Ashihara remains relatively untouched, the Kegai are still a threatening presence, and it is only a matter of time before they break through the divine barrier protecting the town.

Gifted with the Demon Sight, an ability that allows him to see into the ‘Underworld’ where the Kegai lurk, Nini might be humanity’s last best chance of survival. He can’t do it alone, however, and he’ll need to befriend his classmates if he has any hope of fending off this ancient threat.

In this original coming-of-age RPG, step into the life of Nini, a newly earthbound teen who arrives in the quaint Japanese town of Ashihara in August 1983. Explore the town, befriend its people, and face off against the Kegai in turn-based battles where the outcomes depend on the relationships you’ve built and the decisions you’ve made. Use Nini’s special connection to the gods to reset the world, with each loop allowing Nini and his allies to relive the 8th month over and over until they get it right…or the Kegai overcome them entirely.

With one month until the world ends, how will you spend each day?
