One of the most anticipated games of 2023 is Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, and we recently received a new gameplay trailer. The great minds of Team Ninja, developers of Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection, Dead or Alive 6, and the famed Nioh franchise, deliver its spiritual successor game. The gameplay trailer gives a deeper insight into the action RPG play style, enemies, combat, and more.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty: A Nioh Spiritual Successor
The Soulsborne-like action sequences in Wo Long look insane. Giant enemies, Wizardry spells, Nioh-like combat options, jump attacks, dazzling sword-fighting, and improved visuals. These are just some of the game details showcased in the gameplay trailer. Many gamers instantly made comparisons to Nioh 2 and Sekiro at first impression, and those fans were correct, however, Nioh was set in Japan, while Fallen Dynasty takes place in China. The region change allows for not only a new environment but also for creating larger areas.

Players in control of the protagonist can create and customize to their preference using a new and improved character creator suite that is actually similar to Nioh 2. Also, the developers indicated that the video game title holds value to the character and dragons too.
“You have your character in the game, which is the main character you’ll play as, and somehow he goes from being a simple soldier or military man to ‘rising’ through the ranks. You’ll get stronger, you’ll get more skills and weapons and stuff. It will also be very important in the story, because it’s also part of this period before a lot of famous characters in China came out, so you’ll be part of that change.”
“The title itself also mentions a dragon in this world, so this is one of the main concepts we’re looking for. It focuses a lot on dragons, so you’re right about that. The dragon is like that kind of secret entity, a somehow divine beast or creature. And that’s what the game will be focused on.”

The game has no official release date; however, a timetable of release expects the game to be available sometime in early 2023. Gamers of all platforms can enjoy Fallen Dynasty when it releases on PS5/PS4, PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, or via Xbox Game Pass on Day One.
