We first heard rumors of Life is Strange Remasters arriving for the Nintendo Switch at the beginning of the year. This included the original game in which Max Caulfield is the main character. The prologue Life is Strange Before the Storm was also featured. At the time, the release date was set for February, with a later date to follow.

Now Square Enix has given some more information on the Life is Strange Remasters bundle coming to the Nintendo Switch. Gone is the name of the Remastered Collection we saw on previous systems and the Switch release gets a new name. So let’s introduce Life is Strange: Arcadia Bay Collection. A press release also confirms the release date for the Switch release

Life Is Strange Arcadia Bay Collection And What We Know

This is what Square Enix had to say

Two of the greatest stories in games are coming to Nintendo Switch in the Life is Strange Arcadia Bay Collection!

What’s more, they’re coming soon! The collection’s set for release on September 27, 2022! These versions of the game have been specifically optimised for the Switch across characters and environments – whether you play docked on the TV, or handheld with headphones in a comfy chair, you’re going to get an amazing experience.

It also seems from the same press release this is a lovingly crafted release for the Switch

This is no simple port – almost every aspect of the game has been optimized for the platform to deliver the best possible experience. It looks great, and more importantly feels great to play.

Both games have been greatly enhanced from their original release, with improved lighting, character models and more. Life is Strange has also been remastered with full facial motion capture, making these beloved characters more expressive and engaging than before.

In addition, all the bug fixes and enhancements added to the Life is Strange Remastered Collection since launch are all included in the Switch version as standard, making it the complete package in more ways than one!

For those wishing to preorder it’s available on the Square Enix store. It is priced at $39.99/£34.99. This collection is launching both physically and digitally. The Nintendo eShop here in the UK at time of writing still lists the game as the remastered collection. A new trailer for the collection can be seen below.

So what are your thoughts on this announcement? Were you waiting for this release or do you own these already? Would you be tempted to grab a second copy? As always we’d love to hear from you.
