So about a couple of weeks ago, we had the Paradox Interactive showcase presented by Xbox. One of the games we saw was a rival to The Sims. The game in question was Life By You and we saw at the time very little of the game. That has since changed as of today with some more information coming to light and a new trailer for the game. Needless to say, what we have seen is looking very promising and very detailed.

Life By You is being developed by Paradox Tectonic and was founded by Rod Humble. He should know a thing or two about the life simulator genre which The Sims is famous for. After all, he was involved in creating both The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. However, it seems this new game is taking what The Sims started and taking a few steps further. For those interested let’s see the new trailer below.

From the trailer, we see the game is an open world, how much we don’t know as yet. However, it’s clear to see it’s a life simulator with the people watering plants, doing laundry, cooking, and have one half of a couple proposing. If we look at the official website we see the following.

Open up a new world of creative possibilities in Life by You. Be in total control of the humans that you create, the towns that you build, the stories that you tell. And oh yes – mods! We know life is always better with a heavy sprinkle of your imagination, so we’re empowering you with a wide variety of Creator Tools so you can design your lives the way you see fit – or break the rules of life itself. Designed to be one of the most moddable and open life-simulation games, we look forward to the humans, stories, and creations that you’ll make with Life by You.
