Where Gaming Begins

Lies of P. The Pinocchio Tale Gameplay Is Very Bloodborne Like

The recent pre-alpha teaser of Lies of P was posted by publisher Neowiz gives us the first look at the upcoming title. Inspired by the classic Italian novel by Carlo Collodi, Pinocchio, we get a look at the city of Krat. However this time you could be forgiven for thinking that Lies of P is a cross between the adventures of Pinocchio and Bloodborne.

Lies of P. What we see

Lies of P is an upcoming action RPG, which beats a striking resemblance to the FromSoftware title. The city of Krat appears to be brutally dark and gothic and the gameplay isn’t far from a title in the Dark Souls franchise. We play as Pinocchio on his search for Mr. Geppetto. However, that search is fraught with danger as you have to deal with the automatons.

So these are of a pretty twisted and dark nature and would fit any part of Bloodborne for example. However that’s not all, you’ll also need to reverse the situation and restore Krat to how it once was. Looking at the trailer we see examples of combat. So counter attacks and the weapons you have at your disposal. But that’s not all as your own arm has a trick or two as well. So we see this give Pinocchio the ability to use it as a weapon or indeed a grappling hook.

What the plot tells us

So looking at the official description we have a better idea of the actual game and what to expect

As Pinocchio himself, you must navigate through a dark Belle Epoque world where all of humanity is lost. The once beautiful city of Krat has become a living hell, and you must find the famed Mr. Geppetto to unravel the mystery of what happened to both yourself and the world around you.

As the puppet mechanoid Pinocchio, you will wind your way through the streets of a ruined city, crafting weapons from the materials you find in the world, and interacting with the remaining few who manage to survive in this pre-industrial hellscape. The more you lie, the more human you become, with all the advantages and disadvantages that it entails. Profound narrative choices and deeply customisable character progression round out the RPG features in Lies of P.

We have no release details as yet. But it’s expected to launch on current-gen consoles and PC. More information is available on their website and Twitter account as well. However, what do you think of this game? So is it one that interests you? As always we love hearing your thoughts.
